Thanks to BowlingRon for sharing his
recordings with us.
A couple of Canadian legends in Coney Hatch
and Lee Aaron here from 2023.
Coney Hatch I was into for the first couple of albums.
Hearing Devil's Deck on the Friday Rock Show
made me go out and buy their debut.
I liked Carl's Melodic Rock songs
and Andy's more left field off the wall tunes.
Lee Aaron, can't say I ever bought her albums.
But did enjoy her appearances in KERRANG! magazine.
Didn't she go off to do Jazz then returned to Rock Music?

Ya'll might be interested to know that Carl Dixon recently released a 6-CD set of remastered unreleased recordings spanning "my earliest studio demos with my high school chums, to the most recent DAW creations from my home studio". The set's called 'Peaced Together' & was released by Melodic Rock Classics in a ltd edition of 500 copies only.
ReplyDeleteI'm tempted to get it myself, but i might plump for the digital version as international postage is so expensive these days.
Check it out here: https://www.melodicrockclassics.com/carldixon.html
I can confirm that it is a great little set...very interesting cross section of material from Carl's career. I pre-ordered it a while back and it arrived recently. It wasn't cheap...but where else can you get something like this, directly from the source...and a limited edition at that.
DeleteThanks for the info BowlingRon, i see they're down to the last few copies now so i'll have to make a decision soon on whether to pull the trigger on a purchase or not. Do i go with my internal fan-boy or my internal bank manger? Time will tell.
DeleteYup. I felt exactly the same way. I'm recently retired - we sold the bowling alley - that is where the name comes from...and I splurged and bought myself a retirement present.
DeleteMany congratulations of your retirement Ron. Under such circumstances i'd say you were more than justified in gifting yourself that set as a little reward.
DeleteI unfortunately don't currently have the luxury of such a convenient reason i could point to in justification for such an extravagance.
Maybe i should retire too... :)
