Come On Ride With Me...

Here's one sent in by BKF.Thanks buddy, appreciate the share.

Hi fellas,
hope all of the team behind the scenes at the Barn are doing well.
Just wanted to pass this show your way as it seemed
a good fit for HRC & there aren't many good
sounding vintage shows by them in circulation.
Do feel free to share it on the blog if you want.
It's Circus Of Power live at a club called
Sundance in Bayshore, Long Island,
New York back in 1988. A great soundboard
recording from back when they were touring their S/T debut
(on this occasion they were supporting Yngwie Malmsteen which
seems a strange musical mismatch)
and it even includes one non-LP track.
Just 8 songs, but it's all killer, no filler.
Full CD art & txt included, no password required, 320 kbps mp3.
Happy listening & keep up the great work.
What you do here is much appreciated.
All the best,
BFK.

She Took Everything...

Here is one that's been up before, years ago (2016).
UFO promoting one of my favourite UFO albums You Are Here in 2004.
A rejuvenated lineup put in a fine performance of old and new tracks.
Amazingly this is version 34 of the band.

Just A Slight Change Of Plans...

Two versions of this excellent Fm  Radio Broadcast
from the Electric Ladyland studios, New York 1992.
 The original broadcast with radio
announcements included.
Then the show with two extra tracks without announcements.
Great sound and setlist with vocalist
Lou Gramm showing what a great voice he has.

Version 1

Version 2

Easing Down The Highway In A New Cadillac...

DVD rip of veteran Texas Rockers running
through a collection of well known songs from their large repertoire.
And good to see a couple of tracks off the
excellent 2012 La Futura album.

You're In A Murderous Playground...

An FM Radio Broadcast of  Magnum 2 years before
their breakthrough album, On A Storyteller's Night.
But there are plenty of classic tracks on here
Changes,The Spirit,Sacred Hour,
Kingdom Of Madness and Solder Of The Line.
All songs that remained in the set list for years.
A good energetic performance by the band
and the old Marquee Club audience.

Forged On Anvils Of Steel...

So here I am sitting looking around this shitehole of a venue thinking why?
It's the type of corporate gig I thought
I had left behind back in the 90's.
As soon as you walk in the door it just screams rip off to me
with everything from the prices to queuing 20mins for a piss...
I hate these places...
BUT as soon as the intro started I put aside my
dislike and for the next 65mins witnessed
one of the best gigs of the year.
Billed between Heep & Priest they
were the band of night for me and with
having Brian Tatler on board these days
they've just gone up another level....Enjoy,Ed.

Now He's In A Rock n Roll Outfit...

OK,I may have mentioned before I don't do tribute bands,
nothing personal everyone needs to make a
living in this difficult industry but I prefer to
support original bands who play songs new to my
ears in a live setting but every once in a while I like
to go retro and with Mr Hart along with Dave Calwell having done
their stints with Bad Co. I felt it justified a
visit along to the Half Moon to hear some of these
old classics and it was worth the long trip
down south to this lovely little venue.Great gig.Enjoy,Ed.

But Still I Search For The Answer...

It's been a long journey for me and Mantis having first seen them way back in '81
and back then myself and my fellow
gig goers were convinced they were going to be HUGE
with their Time Tells No Lies album.
At the time they offered something different on the
NWOBHM scene with the quality of those songs BUT
once again it didn't happen and here we are 40+ years
later with them playing small venues like this, but
at least they are still out there and seeing the the
smiles on their faces tonight enjoying every minute of it.
As expected most of the songs played tonight were from
that album but I have to say the newer material really does
shine through particularly 'Standing Tall' which is just brilliant.
Thank you Mantis for making an old man very
happy even if I did have to travel way down to
South London to find the venue.Enjoy,Ed.

Baby I'll Try To Love Again...

The ex singer of The Faces did alright
for himself didn't he.
Here's Rod on the Vagabond Heart Tour.
And a very nice sounding two disc set here.
As with Rod he covers a couple of his favourite tunes.

It Ain't Easy...

From 2007 here's a pretty cool outtake collection
from Heavy Pettin.
A band that ended up with a three album career
and it coulda shoulda been so much more.
As we all know some bands make it some don't.
I've scanned the song info for those that like
a little more background into these tracks.

I Just Want To Be Left Alone...

An excellent soundboard collection of early Skynyrd
demos mainly from early 70s.
You can clearly hear the band shaping their sound of
 Rock,Blues and acoustic Southern Style
for their first classic album Pronounced Lynyrd Skynyrd.

You Gotta Rock And Get Down...

Decent audience recording from the soon to be released
Assault Attack album.
Although you wouldn't think so looking at the setlist.
Probably due to Graham Bonnet's removal from the band
and Gary Barden not being familiar with the new songs.
So its classics from the first 2 albums in
front of a very appreciative German audience.

Practiced 'til I Knew All The Licks...

The Byrdland's on fire for this one!
A very enjoyable Radio Broadcast from Kentucky back in 1995.
A bonus also having Derek St. Holmes in the band as well.
Far from Ted's glory days back in the 70's.
But he did make a couple of albums with Hard Rock
Supergroup Damn Yankees back in the early 90's.
Lately? Had to look it up but he's only released
three albums since 2007's Love Grenade.

I Worked In Every Joint You Can Name...

A nice sounding incomplete show from Fresno 1977.
The Songs from the then new Street Survivors album
mix in well with the well-known classic tracks.
Overall it's a really enjoyable classic Skynyrd show.
Hopefully there's a full version of this out there somewhere.

She Makes You Burn With A Wave Of Her Hand...

The always active Glenn Hughes formed
California Breed with Jason Bonham in 2013.
Here they are minus Jason Bonham
promoting songs from their self titled album in Munich 2014,
and of course it includes 6 songs rom Glenn's past in the set list.
