Can't You See That You Were Wrong?...

Sometimes you just need some HEAVY METAL..
this time from NWOBHM stalwarts Tytan.
I've always liked their Melodic Metal.
I remember hearing them first time around on the
Friday Rock Show waayyy back in the early 80's and
I was happy to see them get back together recently and
even happier to catch them live as I missed them first time around.
Good old school Metal...Enjoy,Ed.

Ride On Wings Of Dreams And Fly Away...

FANTASY POWER METAL...
no me neither but yes apparently it's a genre and while
queuing to get in I was thanked by an elf (with plastic pointy ears)
for joining and helping to overcome the forces of evil...ok...
during the gig itself BLACKWALD the keyboard player
repeatedly asked us to summon balls of fire which would
help destroy the orcs & goblins which were amassing
and then singer ALLYON threw the Sapphire Dragon
(a blow up plastic dragon) into the baying crowd
which we obviously had to kill and by the end of the
gig we were assured that good had overcome
evil and the world was in a better place...
I kid you not... OK all that nonsense aside this
was such a good gig musically the quality was
amazing and in elf LYND the lead guitarist for
speed and dexterity is the best I've ever
seen and heard and would wipe the floor with Malmsteen...
so there you go thanks to myself and
300 hundred others we saved the world
and that does not happen often on a
Thursday night in Camden...Enjoy,Ed.

...And Ignorance

Alright back to 1980 for this compilation
of knowns, unknowns and never to be remembered
bands.A little harsh maybe because I enjoyed
this one.Probably as I had to record it twice (don't ask!).
Pretty varied collection if you like early metal.
Man,40+ years later and I'm still discovering stuff.

First Star I See Tonight...

An excellent sounding BBC

Lone Star live recordings from 1977 and 78.

Playing their mix of blues and prog and rock,

a very 70s sounding.

With Paul Chapman on lead guitar.

And Some of the vocals are by

ex Trapeze and Uriah Heep vocalist John Solman,

Who apparently played keyboards and guitar on the UFO album,

The Wild The Willing And The Innocent

But didn't get any credit on the album cover.

This Is a One Track File 47 minutes long.

Lone Star Is HERE!
