Unusual one here with Joe Satriani on guitar.

They're still out there touring but from what I've read

it could be close to their final one.

Nobody's getting any younger that's for sure.

Purple Mark II on their come back tour in Toronto 1985.  

It's a very good audience recording with a nice setlist,including 

plenty of tracks from 

 the Perfect Strangers album to go with the old classics.

Listed as The Definitive Nagoya 1975.

It's a fairly decent sounding show by 

Deep Purple mark 4. 

From their last Japanese tour 

until the mark 2 reunion in the mid 80s. 

Good set list with plenty of tracks from the excellent 

Come Taste The Band album and 

long jams as you would expect.

It's from the California Jam back in 1974.

He Feels It From His Soul...

 

Deep Purple mk8 playing the classic 1972 album 

Machine Head in full including the excellent 

When A Blind Man Cries in 2004.

Ian Gillan may not scream as he once did and 

Steve Morse is no Ritchie Blackmore 

but it's a very enjoyable 49 minutes of classic Purple.

We're Meeting All The Groovy People...

Pretty decent incomplete audience recording from the

Mark 3 line up on the Burn USA tour.

Standard setlist for this tour with of course plenty of long solos.

Amazing to think that this lineup is 

still talked about today over 

50 years later even though they lasted  

less than 2 years together. 

But then again they did record one of the 

all-time classic albums in 

BURN.

Soundboard recording Ian Gillan fronting his own band between 

spells with Deep Purple.

Live in Munich promoting the album Future Shock an album that sold well in the 

UK reaching number 2 in the album charts.

Also of note here is future Iron Maiden guitarist 

Janick Gers first live performance with the band.

Pretty good rock concert with Ian singing as only he can.

Very good performance by Richie Blackmore on this

good set list with a decent mix of old and 

newer songs with of course plenty of improvisation.

 Although I never understood why they 

kept playing Going Down.

Standing In The Shadows...

 

A good audience recording from the legendary 

bass playing vocalist Glenn Hughes.

With a great mix of songs from many periods of his 

long and varied career.

And it seems there's more albums to come with a new 

Black Country Communion album just released 

 and apparently he has  just finished recording his next solo album.

Dressed In Their Summer Clothes...

 

An early Mk 2 soundboard FM broadcast from 

Radio Amsterdam in 1969 entitled Ritchie's Blues. 

Featuring early versions of Speed King ( Kneel and Pray ) and Child In Time.

Blackmore's guitar is lost in the mix on the first couple of minutes otherwise,  

 very good sound for the time.

I'm Always Takin' The Lead...

 

Deep Purple BBC transmission tapes 1974 live concert LP bootleg.
A friend of mine managed to get hold 

of a vinyl copy of this

 (wouldn't tell me how) a few years back.
And ripped it to an mp3 audio. 
The sound on this is really excellent 

and in my opinion better than the official releases,

even though it's not the full show  
57 minutes of mk3 at their best.
