The End Of The Year Message.

Well we've done it again reached the end of another
Rockin' year here at HRC.
Maybe not as productive as some years but we're still
hanging in there.
So thanks to all visitors & commenters,
there'd be no point doing this without you.
Plus special thanks to UFO Steve & Eddie for
all their contributions,cheers guys.
For those wondering what's happened to Rocket.
I've emailed him a few times and had no reply.
As I said a year ago maybe he'll turn up,fingers crossed.
So we'll wish you all a Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year.
We'll do it all again in 2025.
C-YA Then!!

Don't You Mess Around With Me...

 Something that's been up before.
From a dvd audio disc I picked up years ago pretty cheaply.
If you find it now it'll cost a pretty penny.
No info with this but I did look it up and
it seems it's from Austin,Texas 1981.
Anyway great sound and performance on this gem.

Someone Bound To Take A Look...

Another band that had to give it up recently,
American legends Aerosmith.
They have left us with a great body of
work (for the most part).
Anyway back to 1983 and the turmoil within the band.
Perry and Whitford have left.
Replaced by Crespo and Dufay.
Now I love this era it's when I really started to get
into the band.Rock In A Hard Place is one of my
favourite Aerosmith albums after all.
Here we find the band on that tour Rockin' up a storm.

The Angel Opens Her Eyes...

Here's one of my favourite alternative bands,Live.
Recorded in the USA in 1994 and that's all
the info I have.1994 was the year of their biggest selling album
Throwing Copper. And a lot of those tunes are here.
There's also a couple of repeated songs.
Sounds like it's concert and TV performances.
I dunno?bootlegs,huh!

Take It all...

A Scorpion's vinyl bootleg rip of a French radio
FM broadcast live at the Hippodrome,Paris 1980 on the Animal Magnetism tour.
It's a 2 track mp3 file.Sides A and B.
A really good setlist with songs from the Lovedrive and
Animal Magnetism albums with a few old Uli John Roth era classics.

We're The Only Ones...

Amazingly even to this day people think UFO
ended when Michael Schenker left in 1978.
Here's proof if proof were ever needed (not by me)
a compilation of live UFO songs from the
Chapman era I put together a few years back.
18 tracks recorded between 1980 to 1983.
All tracks are recorded from the original bootleg source.
What a great live show this would have made,
the sound is excellent apart from
The Writer which is the best version I could find.

I'm So Tired...

OK back to 2010 and the Sonic Boom Tour.
KISS decide to play a small show in London.
How special would it have been to see the band
close up in full costume?
Once the confetti cannons were let off
I believe the show was cut short.
It sucked all the oxygen out of the air!
Band couldn't breathe.
There was also a fan made book about the show.
"KISS Rocks Islington"
and long out of print I would imagine.

Right Now,This Time...

Pretty good sounding show from
Metal Legends,Motorhead.
This time with Robbo on board.
Not a great fit image wise.
He did enjoy annoying his bandmates and audience
with his non Motorhead attire.
But,that album,Another Perfect Day is killer.
I pull it out now and again and it blows me away.
Maybe I've got a soft spot for it as
I bought it when it came out.
But I have read it's better thought of
now than it was when it was released.

I Said A Hey,Hey,Hey,Yeah...

Soundboard recording Ian Gillan fronting his own band between
spells with Deep Purple.
Live in Munich promoting the album Future Shock an album that sold well in the
UK reaching number 2 in the album charts.
Also of note here is future Iron Maiden guitarist
Janick Gers first live performance with the band.
Pretty good rock concert with Ian singing as only he can.

Deep Down Inside A Stream Of Light...

There are so few recordings (4 I believe) of Michael Schenker with the Scorpions on the 1979 Lovedrive Tour none have exactly top quality sound.
This is probably the best sounding one.
Unfortunately Schenker's participation with this tour and the Scorpions was short lived due to Michael's well documented problems at the time.
So Matthias Jabs returns to the band,
Schenker forms MSG and the rest as they say is history.

Note.
Track listing doesn't match the file but the music's all there.

It's A Book!

Pulled this book out due to the comments about
Uriah Heep and the Glasgow Apollo.
Great read this one all about the history and the
bands that played at the venue.
Long out of print no doubt.
As you can see from the list of bands,Uriah Heep were indeed
the last Rock Band to play there.

Cause You Set Ma Soul On Fire...

 Here's a show from Brooklyn '92.
KISS gearing up for the Revenge Tour by
playing a series of club dates.
And by all accounts playing better than ever
and reconnecting with a smaller,rabid,
sweaty crowd.
Must've been cool seeing
them up close and personal.
Pretty good audience recording here.

I've Heard All Your Stories...

Uriah Heep FM Radio Broadcast from the
Glasgow Apollo on the Equator Tour.
Not sure if it's a full show but it's
definitely longer than previous versions.
Excellent sounding lively performance as these
Radio shows usually are at the Glasgow Apollo.

Doh!

For many fans they are probably at the peak of their live
performances around this time.
It's a very good Dan Lampinski audience recording
from The Who By Numbers Tour.
Excellent setlist almost appears to be a greatest hits live collection.

Your Face In The Wind Your Haircut's In...

Music and chat with John Mellencamp
from NBC's The Source Radio Show.
Broadcast date Oct 21,21,22, 1983.
So right at the release date of Uh - Huh (great album).
Super archival listen.
Vinyl Rip.

Kissin' Time...

Was looking through the KISS posts and noticed
this one hadn't been reposted.
Excellent quality demos from classic era (1975)
KISS.Good time Rock 'n' Roll.

It Was You,That Filled The Concert Halls...

An FM radio broadcast of Saxon live at the Hammersmith Odeon 1981.
Its a decent FM recording. The mix could be better.
But it's classic Saxon on the Denim and Leather tour and a really enjoyable concert.
Its definitely one to play loud!
Now where did I put my old denim jacket?

You Can't Stop A Train With Just A Smile...

Excellent audience recording in front of a enthusiastic American audience.
Usual Strangers heavy setlist with just the two tracks from the Walk On Water
album Venus and Pushed To The Limit and also the return of 70's encore
C'mon Everybody.
Pretty decent all round performance with a nice vibe to the show.
