Look Back And Turn Back...

Good audience recording of Uriah Heep from Seattle 1973.
For many fans this is the classic period of the band
with of course David Byron on vocals.
With a setlist very similar to the excellent live in Birmingham album.

We're Meeting All The Groovy People...

Pretty decent incomplete audience recording from the
Mark 3 line up on the Burn USA tour.
Standard setlist for this tour with of course plenty of long solos.
Amazing to think that this lineup is
still talked about today over
50 years later even though they lasted
less than 2 years together.
But then again they did record one of the
all-time classic albums in
BURN.

She Told Me My Talk Was Cheap...

SUPPORT SLOT #3
Another exciting young band on the up,
This was the first time I had seen them and I was well impressed,
Playing good solid hard rock in the Led Zep mould
and other bands of that ilk from the glorious 70's.
If the yanks can find GRETA VAN FLEET
why can't we find our own version over here...
ONE TO WATCH OUT FOR...EnjoyEd.

Sometimes Near Dawn I Wonder...

YES I think I found another little gem a
brand new band playing modern rock with a
touch of the Doors,Stones,Pixies type rock.
Early days for them and with the
sound man having his head up his arse and
not helping them at all tonight they played it like an arena gig.
They have the swagger along with 2 or 3
future classic songs
(especially 'Draw Blood For Proof')
I am hoping they can make it to the next level...Enjoy,Ed.

A Message From Eddie

To all the good folks who click onto HRC.
A HAPPY NEW YEAR
What a great year for me personally gig wise.
138 GIGS
309 BANDS
35 VENUES

A feat I have not achieved since the 80's and i can honestly say I have enjoyed every rockin' minute of it...THANK YOU LOCKDOWN!!! Let me explain...I stopped going to gigs during the late 90's...I just lost interest,The buzz that first attracted me back in '81 had gone I found myself more interested in the bar than the bands so I just stopped going UNTIL lockdown where like everyone else in the world we were stuck indoors and it just hit me " I WANT A GIG IN MY LIFE AGAIN" and as soon we were allowed out again and bands got back on tour I was in,slowly at first (it had been 20 years) but then SMACK my mojo was back .The hunger and the buzz had returned and I have not looked back since. The NEED to hear THAT song and WATCH that band new or old playing LIVE is back in full swing and I am feckin' lovin' it and finding a place to share these gigs just adds to the buzz especially when you take the time to leave a message even if you didn't like the music it's always good to hear from you.THANK YOU SMOKER for keeping the site going and here's to 2025 and the calendar is filling up nicely ….Bring it on...Ed.

They're Not At Home...

 Welcome back everybody for (hopefully)
another year of Rock 'n' Roll.
We start with some sleazy Rock from the
early 90's.Touted as the next big thing,
The Throbs outta New York.
Signed to Geffen and their only album was produced by Bob Ezrin.
I like it...still.
But I think these demos have a little more urgency and aggression.
As we all know Grunge was making a splash
and it was harder for new bands to make that breakthrough.
Tape Rip.
