I've Got Me An Overdose Of Rock 'n' Roll...

Another double bill this time Aerosmith & Ted Nugent.
Both ridin' high in the popularity stakes
back in '75.
Classic stuff.
Great set of tunes from both bands.
I just love that extended intro to SOS (Too Bad).

On Such A Breathless Night As This...

 The headliners,Queen.
On the A Day At The Races Tour.
This is the last show of the tour and an excellent performance,
as you would expect from a top band.
Show taped by Stan Gutoski.
40+ years later we're still enjoying these historical recordings.
Thanks Stan!

I'm Still In Love With,You Know Who...

Here's a headliner and support band post.
And what a double bill this is!
Thin Lizzy trying to get a foothold in the US.
Gary Moore is on guitar as Robbo was unavailable!
Excellent audience recording.
The Boys Are Back In Town is incomplete.

Two of One of a Kind...

Someone Requested Somethin' by this Band: SPARKS!

I had this from way back, But have never Posted it Before!
(It has been Unofficially Released Fairly Recently...
Which I was Thankful for, 'Cause the Original Artwork
I Had was Pretty Awful!)

Sparks Live at The Record Plant in 1974...
(One of those Live In The Studio Things!)

IF You've Never Heard Sparks Before...

Well, They're Different!

The Mael Brothers and Band Sound Kinda, Sorta Like
Queen, Cheap Trick, The Cars and Flashes of Meat Loaf
ALL Rolled Into One...

(Since Sparks Released Their 1st Album in 1971 - They Sounded This Way Before Those Reference Bands Were Around!)

Those of You in the U.K., France and Other Countries Are Probably
More Familiar with Sparks than Those in the U.S.

Sparks Music Range from Simple Piano and High Pitched Vocals
to Bombastic Epic Rock,
With Quite the Sense of Humor (Or, Humour...)

Who Could Forget the album title:
A Woofer In Tweeter's Clothing...

This Show takes Place Between Kimono My House and Propaganda...
BOTH Released in 1974!

Wherever I Go,They Treat Me The Same...

Yeah more Stones, this time they are
in rehearsals and they seem to be enjoying themselves.
Recorded in France in 1977 & '78.
Ten minutes of When The Whip Comes Down.
Nine minutes of Miss You.
Count me in!
You Gotta Move...

Gotta Keep Things Movin'...

The excellent Mr.Big live in Dallas
in either 1991 or '92.
Who knows with these things?
The usual original songs and cover versions from them.
An easy mistake to make but that's not the
correct title of track 14.
A Rockin' great band!

You Better Watch Out...Again!

That last Kiss post had to be taken down it was pointed out
that there were some sound issues with it.
So...here's another.
Hopefully this one is ok.
From Bonner Springs.
Makin' Love
Tears Are Falling
Unholy.
Just some of the tunes you get with this one.

Before The Break Up...Song...

DAMN!
(Yep, I Said: DAMN!)

This IS a Great Concert!

It Comes Before The Greg Kihn Band had a Hit with
The Break Up Song (They Don't Write 'Em)...

It's Just Basic Old-Fashioned Rock N Roll!
(Catchy & Groovin' & Rockin'...)

You May Not Know These Songs...
But, I Urge You to Give 'Em a Try!

'Course, If Nothin' Else, You DO Know
The LAST 3 Songs!
(Since They're ALL Covers!)

What Admiral Farragut Said...

Here's a Stellar Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers Concert!

Live, Durin' That Real Breakthrough Time for The Band...
Damn The Torpedos really sent T.P. to the Next Level!

This is a Quality Soundboard Recording!

Live from the Philadelphia Spectrum from 1980!

This Show Really Shows the Range of Tom and Band...
From the Early Songs to The Damn...Songs to Covers, Etc.

A Better Soundin' and Performed Concert
from This Time Period,
You're Not Likely to Find!

We'll Ride Them Someday...

Again, With The Brian Robertson...

There was some Talk (In The Comments section) about
Brian Robertson and his Post-Lizzy Work...

Everyone Knows About his short stint with Motörhead
and work with Frankie Miller and his Solo album...

But, What They were Talkin' 'Bout was Before That!

And, This Band Came Up: Wild Horses!

Robbo formed the Band with Jimmy Bain in 1978
and Recorded Their First album in 1980...
They also had Neil Carter and Clive Edwards with them...
But by 1981, the Horses were
Gettin' Tired and Loose and Runnin' Away...
(Neil was one of Them...)
They Recorded a Second album in 1981: Stand Your Ground...

NOTE: Everlasting Love IS the Song You Think It Is!
(By Love Affair or Rex Smith and Rachel Sweet and Tons Others...)

This Is One Of The Last Performances by the Band!
(In Fact, I Believe...
This IS the Last Performance by the Band!?!)

I've Had This for Forever and a Day...

But, WAIT - There's More!

I Had One Other Song from the 1980 Line Up

(with Phil Joinin' Them...)

And Didn't Know What to Do With It,

So I've Included a Link to It Below...

Wild Horses - BBC In Concert 1981  (256)

 Wild Horses (with Phil Lynott)

Are You Ready - Rosalie Medley (Live 1980)

Dedication...

Here's a Cool Tribute CD for Thin Lizzy Fans!

(And for Folks Who Like these Kinda Things!)

The Music's Pretty Much on Target
(As Well as Can Be Expected...)
But, Of Course, The Vocals are Another Matter...

BAD HABITZ Don't Try to Mimic Phil...
(Which IS a Good Thing!)
'Cause, Well, Hell,
There Will ONLY EVER Be One Phil Lynott!

Also, They Condense several songs into Medleys...

But, It's Somethin' every Lizzy Fan should Hear (At Least Once!)

Enjoy and Play It LOUD for PHIL!

Tongue Tied Can't Decide...

 Quality over quantity here.
A short set from Thunder from Wacken 2013.
If you like classy Hard Rock from the UK
these are the guys.
Popular in the UK & Europe, shoulda coulda
broke big in the US.
Criminally underrated.

Five Miles Off The Ground...

Short but sweet from the classic line up.
Live in Nottingham,England.
For a band who play at a volume that strips paint from
walls and rips tiles from roofs.
They're sounding very good here.

Livin',Lovin', I'm On The Run...

A firm favourite here at HRC.
The one and only Michael Schenker.
A show he played exactly nine years ago today.
In a city with a name that's relevant to
the very strange year we've had.
Twilight Zone anybody?!
This appears to be an excellent audience recording.
The setlist is packed with stone cold classics.
There were different vocalists on the tour depending
on which country it was.
It was Robin McAuley for the US leg.

2/23/2021

I'm A Cold Italian Pizza...

Voodoo Lounge time now with The Stones.
Excellent sound and of course the boys
are sounding mighty fine.
Voodoo Lounge the album,
I don't really rate it apart from a couple of songs.
Love Is Strong (great video) especially.
I'll need to put it on to my give it an other go list.

2/22/2021

And We Have Just One World...

Well,Well,Well, that Dire Straits post went down pretty well.
So...here's another.
FM broadcast so it's great quality.
From the Brothers In Arms Tour.
A massive album for the band and as it
turns out one of the best selling albums of all time.

We'll Have Lunch,I Got A Hunch...

Short and sweet from Jason and the boys.
Little acoustic set & interview from Boston Radio 1989.
If you like your Country mixed with Rock.

I Tell You 1 + 1 Makes 3...

Great genre jumping band here,Living Colour (or Color).
Hard Rockin' & Funky.
I first got into them when I saw the video for Middle Man
on one of the rare music shows we had back in the 80's.
So I grabbed their debut when it came out.
Cool band.

East Side West Side Blues...

Here's the cd that came with the
You Gotta Move DVD.
Recorded during the Honkin' With Bobo era.
Only six songs but it's a goodie.
Especially the extended version of Rats In The Cellar.

They've Got Metal Hearts...

Here's an Out of Print Accept E.P.
called Breakers On Stage from 1998...

It's Just 4 Songs Recorded on the Metal Heart tour...

But, It's from Back When, Before UDO Left and So On...

So, It's Great Heavy Metal Live!

Enjoy and Play It LOUD!

Look At Mother Nature On The Run...

One man and a guitar (and a keyboard and a harmonica!).
Neil Young.Writer of many great songs.
He's playing a lot of them here.
Although not the greatest of singers.
It's hard to imagine anybody else singing these songs.
His voice at times just keeps on the right
side of in tune.
But that's what makes it real!!
Springsteen joins him for the last song.
Tape Rip.

Bolivian Ragamuffin...

From 1985,this album was only ever released
on cassette.
It's quality Melodic Rock from Scotland.
(Who would've thought?)
Most notably the singer is Dougie White
who went on to sing with Blackmore's Rainbow
and Michael Schenker.
I'd say it was easily as good as what was coming
from the USA at the time.
Seemingly they had a chance of a major record deal
but it fell through at the last minute.

Riding In The Back,Oozing Down The Street...

 It's Boss Time.

(We've just hit 1000 comments for the site.

love reading them. But most of all we love that you join in.)

If I Ever Get Back To Fun City...

Sticking with the 70's here's The Stones.
Elegantly wasted touring the Black & Blue album.
Yep I like that album some great songs on it.
Sweet setlist here and you also get a couple of songs
from Billy Preston who played keyboards on the tour.
From Lyon,France '76.
