There are many versions of this around
this one is a rip of my original bootleg CD I bought back around 2015.
A compilation of 1974 shows.
An excellent Soundboard from Atlanta USA and 4 tracks at the Marquee Club.
It's classic early UFO with Michael Schenker at their best.
"Classic UFO with Schenker" (AND Paul Chapman on the bonus tracks!)
ReplyDeleteYes you're right I should have mentioned Paul Chapman especially as he was there in 1974 at my first ever UFO gig
DeleteWow! Cool memory. Unfortunately the only time i saw UFO it was that weird mid-80's line up with Atomik Tommy. Not much of a brag. :) Did Schenker & Chapman both play on the non-LP 'Give Her The Gun' single or was it only Michael?
DeleteHi anonymous No Chapman wasn't on give her the gun he was only with UFO for a short time in 1974 after the recording of phenomenon and before the recording of force it
ReplyDeletehe never recording anything officially until 1980s no place to run
he does appear on the BBC box set with Michael Schenker for the BBC in concert show from 1974
And yes I was lucky to see Chapman in the band in 1974 at Hastings , and twice at the marquee Club London as a 15 year old school hoy
I remember going to Folkestone in September 1974 to see UFO and Paul Chapman wasn't there we asked a rodie after the show and he told us he had left
no internet back in them days them days
great memories
Keep On rocking Steve
My best personal example of surprising gig-going experiences in the pre-internet era was going to see Lynyrd Skynyrd in the '90's only to find that the previously unannounced support act was a solo Bruce Dickinson. A literal 'Brucie Bonus'! : ) It then took me 'til song 2 of the set to realise that Adrian Smith was the new guitarist in his band!
DeleteSo glad i showed up early that night.
Thanks so much!
