UFO Steve Sez:
This is a huge upgrade on all other versions of this Old bootleg
a really excellent audience recording of the Chicago show
which we all thought years ago was the actual live album
unfortunately none of the tracks from this night
actually appeared on the album.
Sounds Like a FM/SBD Matrix...Yeah, It's That GOOD!

I remember the night vividly. 10/13/78. The assembled throng was--for lack of a better word--horny for UFO. To the point they booed City Boy, a not-untalented bunch of UK pop-rockers, off the stage.
ReplyDeleteWe wanted UFO.
They eventually took the stage and played a marvelous set. While a bit short (13 songs) it contained all the melodious hard rock we came to expect, with a raft of majestic guitar solos provided by one M. Schenker.
Whether the show did or did not provide the basis for the live LP is beyond the point. While a UFO hot bed, Chicago's International Amphitheater's acoustics were not the ideal setting for a live album.
Regardless, UFO kicked our asses good and hard that Saturday night.
Great to hear your memory of this show sounds like a good old fashioned 70s Rock Show and you're right it's immaterial weather these tracks are used for the album or not it's just a great UFO Show just like all six concerts on strangers box set they all would have made great live albums
DeleteNow available officially as part of the Strangers In The Night box Set.
