ReplyDeleteBTW, do any good live recordings exist from Graham Bonnet's all-too-brief tenure with MSG? If so, i'd sure appreciate seeing them here as I thought the album they made together was the best thing either of them ever did, (UFO aside, obvs).
As far as I know Graham Bonnet only played The One Show at Sheffield in 1982 and didn't even complete that due to the Notorious incident I've never seen a recording of it

That's what i thought, but i hoped i was wrong. Ah well, perhaps rehearsal recordings or demos might surface one day.
DeleteWith hindsight it's surprising there weren't more onstage meltdowns back in the day. So many musicians liked a drink or enjoyed pharmaceuticals at that time, yet incidents like the one involving Bonnet were comparitively rare. You had Jim Morrison whipping out his lizard & Keith Moon passing out behind his kit, but beyond that i can't immediately think of any others.
They were made of stern stuff back then.
