Last minute gig for me tonight. To be honest I never really paid much attention to these guys over the years but I was given a ticket and the support bands looked good so why not?...Well well well I didn't expect this they were so good with some great songs and lead singer Josh Todd is such an engaging frontman you just can't take your eyes off him.The venue was packed so occasionally the recording suffers from idiots who would rather discuss what they had for dinner last night than watch the gig....Jeez i hate these people...Oh well I still came away with a new favourite band...Enjoy,Ed.

Interesting they covered an "uncool" artist like Bryan Adams. Good for them. I've never paid much attention to them either but that shows they're not afraid to step outside expectations. Thanks for the post, Eddie.
ReplyDeleteI saw Buckcherry live years ago supporting Kiss at Wembley on the Psycho Circus tour but they didn't make much too of an impression except with the song Lit Up which was a bit of a rock club 'hit' at the time. This bootleg sounds really good on 1st listen so i'm glad i gave them another chance, nice job Eddie!
ReplyDeleteI felt a bit sorry for them supporting Kiss as they didn't seem to have been given the full PA so had a rather puny sound in that cavernous venue, yet strangely the PA sounded amazing by the time Kiss hit the stage.
Far be it for me to suggest that a legendary band like Kiss might set out to knobble their support band, but they definitely did just that, there's not a doubt in my mind.
Paul Stanley's idea probably, he's a very petty & insecure man despite his riches & decades of fame.
Shame on you Paul.
Bad Starchild! :) :) :)
To contrast that pettiness, I saw the Rolling Stones in July of this year at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, and the opener The Linda Lindas had use of the full PA, giant video screens and got to use the entire width of the massive stage. The Linda Lindas is an all-female band ages 13-17 years, and they'll have that wonderful experience for the rest of their lives, thanks to the graciousness of the Stones. As it should be.
DeleteThat's exactly how it should be & fair play to the Stones for their approach. I always thought The Who too were always admirably fearless in that respect, taking out the likes of Skynyrd, AC/DC & Montrose over the years.
DeleteA headline act has to back itself to go down better than the support & if they're forced to raise their game then surely that's a win/win? The audience get a great value for money show, the support band win some new fans & the main band get to show they've still got it.
