An excellent sounding recording from the
classic lineup of the Power Trio.
Really cranking out the riffs on the
Iron Fist tour in Newcastle 1982.
This bootleg was released to celebrate the
20th anniversary of the band in 1995
and included the unreleased
studio track at the time,Black Leather Jacket.
Not the classic line-up. Robbo on guitar, at this point.
ReplyDeleteare you sure anonymous I thought these Newcastle dates were in March 82 and fast eddie left in may 1982
ReplyDeleteI bought this one a couple of years ago, because of the leather jacket track, cost me about £16 quid I think, anyway worth hearing and its not a bad show either, worth d/loading if you have not got it already.
ReplyDeleteObrigado!
ReplyDeleteI believe this show is from Newcastle on the 22nd of March 1982 with fast Eddie Clark still in the band has he did not leave until May 1982
ReplyDeleteExcuse me, gentlemen. I really don't know if this is a set with original, and unforgettable guitarist Eddie Clarke or if it's a set with following (for a short time) guitarist Brian Robertson.
ReplyDeleteBut what I definitifly know is, that Brian Robertson also stands for a very strong guitar work.
Both guitarists may be very different in their style.
I did not see/hear the great band featuring Lemmy Kilmister live anytime. But I know about the early albums by the band, and i also known very much about the great work by Brian Robertson together with THIN LIZZY and his band THE WILD HORSES, and his only studioalbum in MOTÖRHEAD, "Another perfect day" (which is great but different because of Brian Robertsons melodic guitar style).
May have an ear on the great "First album" by THE WILD HORSES which great melodic hard rock (..by Brian Robertson, Jimmy Bain, Neil Carter and Clive Edwards).
What I want to tell?? Fast Eddie Clarke (RIP) also as Brian Robertson both stands for great guitar works. But as great they are/were, as different they are. Brian Robertson guitar style is much more melodic than Eddie Clarkes style.
Ain't should that be heard on this live dokument?? I think so!!!
But egal is, both of them were/are great musicians and both of them left their marks in
MOTÖRHEAD.
Excuse me, gentlemen,
ReplyDeleteI heard the esrly records by MOTÖRHEAD (with Fast Eddie Clarke) for man times. If It's "Overkill", "Bomber" or "Ace of spades". All of them were great!! Also as the "Hammersmith" live album. Them Eddie left group and was replaced by Brian Robertson. Definitifly an also great guitarist, I had known from his work in THIN LIZZY, and his great band THE WILD HORSES.
Both of the guitarists, as Eddie Clarke on the one side, and Brian Robertson in the other side, were great musicians, but totally different in their styles. Brian Robertson stands for a much more melodic style. Hearable on his only studio Album with MOTÖRHEAD, "Another perfekt day" which was another, but also great album by MOTÖRHEAD.
I really don't know anything absolut the present live document. But tue slightly different guitar styles of this both absolute great guitarists should have been hearable??
Oder liege ich hier falsch.
Cheers
M.F.
Thanks for the interesting comments M F
