OK back with another cool vinyl compilation.
A joint venture between Sounds music paper
and CBS Records.
One of those collect vouchers from

Cool sounds featuring some heavy hitters.
From 1979.

She Looked At My Palm And Made A Magic Sign...

NEW LINKS

Back we go to 1984 and a compilation from
Action Replay Records.
All well known bands on this one.
Of course the reason for these comps was if you liked a
song or two you'd go out and buy their album.
I really like the THOR tune.
His middle name is Anger even though he only
has one name?!
That's Entertainment.

or

Live Wire On The Loose...

NEW LINKS

OK let's continue to live in the past
with another classic vinyl compilation.
This time from that fine vintage year of 1983.
Nice line up of bands.
The only one I'm not too familiar with are Picture.
I think they were Dutch and it's a decent track
they provide here.
Drop the needle...

or

Drop The Needle!

NEW LINKS

 Time for an old favourite.
Monsters Of Rock 1980.
Here' s vinyl rip I did a long time ago.

If you've never heard it here ya go...old school style.

or

I Can Know It's Righteous Stuff...

NEW LINKS

Still more from the seemingly never ending
supply of vinyl compilations.
This one's from 1981 on Bronze Records.
I've listened to this a few times since ripping it.
The memories are strong.

or

Another War, Another Wasteland...

NEW LINKS

Another Vinyl Comp from back in the day.
1984.
The Heavy Way on the Vertigo label.
It looks like a companion piece to Hard Rock '83.
It's a decent selection of what was going on at the time.
Plus you get to listen to one of the worst songs
on Animalize...Woo!!

Just Like Every Night Has Its Dawn...

NEW LINKS

Excellent set of studio sessions from one of our
fav's,Thin Lizzy.
Always interesting to hear songs we know
before they're finished.Different lyrics etc.
Plenty of Gary Moore on show here.
Check the back cover for all the details.

or
or

When All Is Said And Done...

NEW LINKS

 A Thin Lizzy live compilation.
This is a strange one I have no idea of
the sources there is no info.
To me it sounds like it could be from TV Broadcasts.
Anyway it's Lizzy it's great.
Out of print and pretty expensive these days.

or

Here Comes The Rock Brigade...

NEW LINKS

 More vinyl from K-Tel.
Axe Attack must have done pretty well cos
here's the sequel.
The brilliantly named Vol. II.
Featuring most of the bands from the first record.
It's another great compilation that brings back memories
from another place & time.
A 1981 release.

or

Livin' Easy Livin' Free...

NEW LINKS

The greatest Heavy Metal Compilation of all time?
I'm saying yes especially if you were in your teens
in 1980.It pretty much contained all the big bands at the time
and their classic track.
It's where I went on to discover more
Aerosmith,Priest,Nugent,Scorpions etc etc.
Great memories with this record.
On the K-Tel label.

We're Here Together,Together...

Excellent live recording of the original BBC broadcast
by Ginger Baker and the Gurvitz brothers.
I can't say I know a lot about the band even though I did go to
see them on this tour way back in 1975
Strangely Ginger Baker the most famous person in the group,
his drum solo was not broadcast
Otherwise a good 60 minutes of 70s Rock.

I Want Some More Of That...

Early bluesy Whitesnake live at the famous
Rainbow Theatre in London on the Ready and Willing tour of 1980.
Fairly decent audience recording by what many people
consider, especially here in the UK the classic lineup of Whitesnake.

Out Of Money, Out Of Luck...

NEW LINKS

or

Iron Maiden in Japan on the Killers Tour.
Probably the show that's already up.
Kosei Nenkin Hall,Nagoya.

And Now The End Is Near...

NEW LINKS

December 1st & 2nd are the dates of the last ever Kiss
shows at MSG,NYC.It's been a hell of a ride!!
Can't say I've agreed with everything they've done
but I've certainly enjoyed most of it.
Just yesterday I received another book purchase
from Japan so I'm still buying stuff even after all these years.
To be fair they have been on a farewell tour for about
the last 20 years. So the pension pot
must be pretty full by this stage.
All joking aside they are one of the most iconic
bands ever and they've given me a lot
of pleasure over the years.
I can put on one of their albums and it will bring a
smile to my face (except maybe Carnival Of Souls! lol).
Here's a couple of fun shows from the Crazy Nights Tour.
From Sweden and Japan.
Vinyl Rips.

Sweden '88
or

Japan '88
or

You Just Set My Soul On Fire...

NEW LINKS

Magical stuff from Led Zeppelin in 1970.
Of the Led Zep III vintage.
A classic album full of that light and shade
they were known for.
Great performance and sound here,
all four members working as a tight but loose team.
A one of a kind band we will never hear their like
again.Well, unless you listen to Greta Van Fleet that is.
Boom!

You're Very Welcome...

NEW LINKS

Another fine compilation from the Music For Nations label.
Welcome To The Metal Zone from 1985.
A good spread of bands.
Back in the 80's there were so many bands
it was hard to keep up with it all.
A compilation album was a good way to
check out a few bands you would normally never listen to.
A couple of pops and clicks but overall a Rockin' good listen.

or

Are You A Konnoisseur?

NEW LINKS

Here's another vinyl rip and it's a Klassic.
