AND WE'RE BACK!
First post of the year has been sent in to The Barn.
I didn't know that Rocket was on a brief break
but sometimes a rest and recharge is needed.
I did, however, want to share a
treat for "the Barn" (and I know that you guys are
taking a rest until the New Year,
which is fine) that I think everyone will enjoy.
Black Oak Arkansas, Live on the Hog:
The show featured the (at the time) 15-year-old
Shawn Lane on guitar, who absolutely
shreds his way through the setlist.
It was played on the radio in 1979, so the sound quality is great.
The only problem with this set is it's just over
45 minutes long, but man, what a performance.
Hope everyone enjoys! Blessings to you during this holiday season!
Thanks,
That "Crazy" Fellow
or
Good to have some news from Rocket. Give my regards to the chief :)
ReplyDeleteThis is quite good, used to like southern rock bands a lot years ago, many of them came over to britain and played the reading rock festival, which is where i saw them live, blackfoot, molly hatchet,outlaws,38 special.
ReplyDeleteThis one is usually known as 'Live On The Hog' and came originally from the late Shawn Lane's own private tape archive. Incredible to hear how great he could play at just 15 years of age. The extended duelling with Jimmy 'Soybean' Henderson during 'Not Fade Away' & 'Race With The Devil' has astounding playing from both guitarists. Here's the (far better) cover art for LOTH: https://i.postimg.cc/zGsRFgzB/folder.jpg
