Good audience recording of the Mark III line-ups final tour.
Very good performance by Richie Blackmore on this
good set list with a decent mix of old and
newer songs with of course plenty of improvisation.
Although I never understood why they
kept playing Going Down.
(listing on the back cover doesn't match the
file but the music's all there)
Your post made me laugh, Steve. I wonder which band members liked that song. Richie, Glenn and David never performed it with their bands after Deep Purple. They had lots of material to pull from, and they put Going Down. It was never played after the 1975 tour from what I have seen. Maybe they played it with Bolan?
ReplyDeleteThis is my favourite line-up of Deep Purple. It's not an era that is posted much so I thought I had all their 1975 recordings. Richie's playing is so strong during the European leg of the Stormbringer tour. He was happy to go and tour with Rainbow so he was tearing up with Deep Purple. Some fans did boo Tommy Bolan, so Richie left a deep mark on them. Not much Bolan/Deep Purple shows out there so I'm not sure how he played. Thank ya kindly Steve!
Hi Jim thanks for the comments it's not that I don't like the song even UFO played in 1974 I just found it strange when they have such a big catalog of song they could have picked from
Deletethe mark 4 lineup did play this in 75 and 76 and is on the live in Springfield show still available on this site
Cheers steve
Played this today, really good show mostly, vocals a bit low in the mix but blackmore shines through out, show slightly spoiled by glenn hughes screaming into the microphones for some unknown reason, good to hear gypsy played live.
