I'm reminded of the conversation between Willie and the Devil at the end of the movie Crossroads, when Satan talks about how no bluesman can count on success. A man like Jack, who devoted his life to music, never received the payoff from how much he was committed to what he was doing. But to the people who loved him, and the thousands like him, there can only be gratitude.
I thought Great White sucked as a kid but as I've gotten older I really appreciate them. I keep going back to their unplugged show and the Summerfest show. They were tight. I was looking forward to him getting the Acoustic Twice Shy record done. But the work he leaves is still pretty damn awesome.
