 Bit of a heatwave here today so yeah,

it's hot hot Hotter Than Hell!

The Nuge back in 1984.

I'm a big fan of his 70's output but the 80's 

were patchy at the very least for Ted.

Luckily it seems live,he was value for money.

The only other thing I like he did was Damn Yankees

that was a cool band.

Anyway it's a suitably Gonzo show with I think

Brian Howe on (some) vocals.

He's back!But what's the connection to UFO? Read on...

A very nice Gary Moore concert from the Milano Suomo

Festival 1986.

With some excellent guitar work and a great setlist.

Gary at his Rocking best.

And of course a UFO connection.

After leaving UFO in 1983 Neil Carter 

(now current UFO member) joined Gary Moore in late '83.

Staying until 1987 when Gary went back to the blues.

He co-wrote a lot of the songs on those great Gary Moore

Rock albums from that period.

to file as 6 and 7 play as one track).

You Can Use The Door...

 On a cold January night in 1986

young Eddie finds himself at the Marquee.

He's checking out ex MSG frontman

Gary Barden's band,Statetrooper.

The place isn't full but it's enthusiastic.

Why? well AC/DC are playing the same night

so that doesn't help.

First time I've heard this band and it's quality 

Hard Rock,very much of it's time.

Of course a couple of MSG tunes thrown in as well.

Stand Up You Don't Have To Be Afraid...

 This is a special era for me cos this is where I came in

as far as buying KISS albums when they were released.

Creatures of the Night is right up there as one 

of my favourite KISS albums.

Having to kick start once again with ACE leaving

they recruited Vinnie Vincent as the new guitarist.

He's a fine songwriter and performer but you wouldn't

buy as used car from the guy (or anything else for

that matter).It's a tour fondly remembered by

fans who were there,probably because not many

fans were.The band seemed to be playing with 

a new energy and were on it.

What we have is a very good audience recording from

Universal City and a soundboard from Rio.

They released three albums in the 80's

Straight out of Mansfield,England it's

Metallers,Savage.

They only made two albums in the 80's.

Loose 'n' Lethal in '83 and Hyperactive in '85.

With the former being a bit of a classic.

I haven't heard the other one so I can't comment.

I knew them from the 12" single - We Got The Edge,

with it's Priest type rifferama intro.

Here's a triple bill of excellent 80's Rock/Metal.

One time Ian Gillan's right hand man it's

Bernie Tormé live in '82 at the Reading Festival.

A bit Rock/Metal but with a bit Punky influence 

thrown in.I enjoyed the album he did 

with Phil Lewis - Back To Babylon.

Remember he also answered the call to play 

guitar for Ozzy after the death of Randy Rhodes.

Sadly no longer with us.

 Well this was a surprise a last minute

And to be honest I was expecting 90mins of

"I left my old lady" type Blues songs BUT! NO,this guy Rocks.

Jeez the speed he was up and down the strat was a joy to watch.

On the hottest day of the year and at 70 years of age.

One of Sweden's finest exports in my view,

good solid Rock and in Elin Larsson they 

have a powerhouse of a singer.

With amazing stamina on one of the hottest days of the year.

This little bundle of energy was all over the place

including a runaround into the crowd

at one point.I was knackered just watching

her.I hope they can make the next step up

as this gig was supposed to be upstairs

in the larger venue but downsized to 

the Boston Rooms.

So we will see...they have to be seen and heard...

 Kiss on the Unmasked Tour promoting a pretty

light weight album but I like it.

They are on their downers in the good ol' USA

(no tour) but everywhere else...massive.

Europe,Australia love them and New Zealand 

where this show is from.

This is the last show that Ace played until

the reunion in '96.

With Eric Carr giving them a powerful shot in

the arm,live at least,exciting times.
