If It Don't Matter...

Y'All Know How Much I Like Cross Canadian Ragweed...

THIS Is ONE Of My FAVs of Theirs!

They Start With The Rocker: Don't Need You and
Close With Neil Young's Rockin' In The Free World...
In-Between Are Rockers
AND
A Great Story Song: Brooklyn Kid (Rarely Played...)...
AND
ONE Country Song: Leaving Tennessee...

A Song NOT on ANY of Their Albums
OR
Hardly EVER Played AT ALL!

Cody Canada Insists They Are NOT a Country Music Band...
So, He Says, "We're a           Music Band!"

I've Heard TWO Stories 'Bout This Song...

1) A Couple Years Ago, Cody Said It Was
'Bout a Bad Argument Between The Wife & He
While in Nashville...
2) On THIS Recording, He Says, "They (Record Co.)
Asked Us To Write a Country Song. So, We Did!"

Now, BOTH Could Be True at The Same Time...

The Reason It's NOT On Their Albums Or
Was a Single Is 'Cause of the F-Word...
(See IF You Can Count How Many Times He Sings It!?!)

Anyway, It's Another Great Soundin' Soundboard...
(One Of Those Wrist-Band USB Thingys...)

IF You Like Some Red Dirt Rock & Roll Music
AND
Can Tolerate ONE F*#^in' Country Song...
Get THIS!

CCRW-Athens08-CD1

CCRW-Athens08-CD2

(I Love It) Loud, I Wanna Hear It Loud...

Here's The 2nd And Last ILLUSION Album...
(By This Band Named Illusion...)
((There Have Been Many Named That!))

It Was Released 'Bout a Year After the 1st One...

B.B. Borden (B.B. Queen) Had Left and
Bobby Chouinard, (RIP) Billy Squier's Drummer,
Filled In Behind the Drum Kit...

More on Illusions in Rock Music...

The Damned - Stretcher Case Baby (1977)
Also Used C. Allan Gilbert's  All Is Vanity.

And Who Could Forget This:

René Magritte's 1965 painting, Le Blanc-Seing
Inspired the cover of
Styx's 1977 album,
The Grand Illusion.

**********************************************

Overall, Another Fine Effort...

Some More Good Hard Rockin' Music...

We're Livin' In A Human Zoo...

A pretty good soundboard from the Asylum era.
I like the album,a solid slab of 80's KISS.
Although the image was probably their most garish.
Even Liberace would've told them to tone
it down a little.
Carr & Kulick?
Fine by me...we need more.

Six-String Fire...Part II...

Here's Yet Another Bootleg I Posted
Back in 2021 (Again...Again...)

It Was a FM Radio Broadcast...

From The Diamond Club in Toronto in 1989...

This One's a Soundboard Recording!

From Rock N Roll Heaven (!?!) in Toronto in 1989...

BOTH are Dated September 22nd, 1989!?!

And, This One Sounds Like The SAME Show,
Just in a Great Soundboard Form!
(They Mispeled Soundboard AND Recording on the Front Cover...)

Anyway, That Ends Today's Thrillin' Episode of
Double-Take Tuesday!

IF There are Any Further Events, You Will Be
Notified of the Fact, Here on Hear Rock City!

Thanks for Puttin' Up With Us, And Have a Nice Day
:)

What To Do Before The Show...Part II...

Here's Another Led Zeppelin Soundcheck...
(OR Is It!??!)

It's a Great Soundboard Recording...

From Chicago in 1973...
(OR, Is It!??!)

I Read on the Internet...
(So, You Know It Must Be TRUE!)

That There's ONLY 1 Soundcheck...
(And, The Date and Place Are Still Debated...)

I Posted Another Led Zep Soundboard Soundcheck
Back in 2021 (Again!)...

Now, There's Some Songs on Both Versions...

And, There's Some Songs On This One
NOT on the Other One, Etc.

Enjoy and Play It LOUD!

When The Queen Was Younger...Part II...

Today Is Double-Take Tuesday...

Stay With Me, And You'll See What I Mean...

**********************

This Was Broadcast on the BBC...

Back in 1973...

It's an Excellent Radio Show...

'Cept!

NONE Of The BBC Engineers Could
Figure Out How to Turn Up
Freddie's Microphone!?!

The Announcer Comes Through Loud & Clear!

As Does The Music...

But, Freddie's Vocals Are Low in the Mix...

Still, It's Pretty Cool to Hear Queen So Early in the Game!

Now, You May Be Sayin' I've Seen This One,
Or One Similar to It Already Posted...

And, You'd Be Right!

I Posted a Similar Show Back in 2021...
(CLICK on The 2021 To See Previous Post!)

The Only Real Difference Is

There's 1 More Track on This Version...

Enjoy and Play It LOUD!

YES... Sweet are still going and myself and few
hundred others tonight are glad they are, shamefully
having never seen them before I ventured
along with an open mind with a little niggle
thinking this might be a Butlins special but how wrong was I?!!
Sweet definitely Rock and yes I know they have
been playing this set for the last 100 years but
it didn't matter they played them loud and heavy
and they still have those amazing harmonies...
great night..enjoy,Ed.

A Message From Ed.

Another year ends and I just want to thank

smoker & Rocket for allowing me to share a few

of my recordings with you,a lot of these bands will be new to you...

hopefully you have been able

to find something of interest which might

lead you onto purchasing a cd etc etc, there really is a good vibrant

live scene out there but more than ever these bands need support

BUT i'm not going to preach to you as you're all music lovers and

know what you're doing...I can honestly say I've enjoyed 99% of these

shows this year except Bob Mould...jeez awful..had to walk out....

but that was my one and only walk out...ha ha!

So here's to 2023 and hopefully plenty of gigs to come...

Happy New Year to everyone

who visits HEAR ROCK CITY....Keep Rockin.... Ed.

UFO Steve Sez:

This one is listed as an Upgrade

Of the old 1977 Taking Off bootleg.

With a slightly bigger cut in Shoot Shoot.

And to my ears it may be a slightly better sound?

Taking Off Upgrade

Also included is a show recorded

Two nights before at Bissingen, Germany.

Not as good a sound but It's rarely posted anywhere.

Has a few cuts in it,

But a lively performance And still very listenable.
