Fly,On Your Way...

What a tour this must have been.
Flying V and duel guitar solos everywhere,
 live in Clermont-Ferrand,France 1983.
An excellent MSG souding show opening for
Iron Maiden with Schenker firing out the solos.
And a fairly good sounding Maiden show with
Steve Harris  and co making the speakers really shake.
( note the track listings on both
back covers are numbered different to the files
but the music's all there.)

You Think You Know The Score...

Here's a sweet acoustic show from
three members of Nazareth back in 1994.
Very good audience recording.
And some good banter between band and
audience at times.
From (what's it called?) Cumbernauld,Scotland.

The Midnight Train Is Whining Low...

 From Denmark it's Volbeat.
Add your Rock 'n' Roll to your Heavy Rock
and you get the idea.
Fine band and a great show here.
From way back in 2008.

She Takes The Vinyl From The Cover...

Back to the 80's again for the Irish
Band Of Brothers known as Mama's Boys.
Not hitting the heights they should have,
there was some tough competition back then
to be fair.
Quality Hard Rock,played well.

I Was Inside Looking Outside...

Live from Japan 1985 it's one of the best
Melodic Rock bands of all time.
Excellent little show here a little bit harder
Rocking live than on record.
And of course some monster ballads to keep the
girls interested.
There were only two Super Rock festivals,1984 & '85.
Both with stellar line ups.
The exception being Sting,
a little bit out of place among all the Hard Rock.

It's In My Mind,It's In My Soul...

An excellent sounding Radio Broadcast from 1973
with 6 tracks from the album
Twice Removed From Yesterday and some
unrecorded tracks at the time that would
appear on the next album Bridge of Sighs
Also featuring blistering guitar work by Robin,
if you have recently bought the 50th anniversary of
Twice Removed From Yesterday album
this would make a nice companion disc.

While The Angels Sleep Tonight...

An excellent Magnum live show in 2019.
1 hour of classic Magnum.
 (1 track MP3 file)

   THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES,
      Tony Clarkin.

Regrow The Forest...

Well I did not expect this...on record TLI sound really good hence the reason I popped along BUT live they just go to another level, heavier and faster with amazing energy shown throughout the gig.Vocalist Delia is all over the stage and jumping in the crowd during the show making it an absolute joy to watch and listen to and tonight will make it into one of my top 5 gigs of the year...fantastic night...my only gripe being where I was (upstairs on the balcony) I was surrounded by these free ticket holders who insist on chatting their way through the gig...JEEZ I hate these people...show some respect for the band FFS I am hoping the government will bring in a law where these people can be taken out of the venue and SHOT.That aside if you do get a chance check this band out they are gonna be big mefinks...
Enjoy,Ed.

Proud To Break The Bloody Chains...

So it's a Saturday night in Camden and the best place to be is The Underworld to see and hear some Symphonic Metal all the way from Finland,as I've said before this is quite a new genre for me and having put aside my hatred for use of backing tapes (everyone is doing it so I just gotta live with it) I really got into the pirate theme and listening to how well the female/male vocals thang goes led to a really good night of music and it was amusing to see a few fans dressed in their full Captain Jack Sparrow fancy dress outfits which looked good in the venue but going home on the tube they must of taken quite a bit of stick from the Saturday night drunks...
Enjoy,Ed.

It's A Clue To the Answer We All Chase...

Yes they are still going...I never got to see them back in the day (the 80's reformation version NOT the 70's original..I am far too young for that version) but wanting to hear some hammond organ led progressive music I made my way to The Forge in Camden a new venue and a very nice one at that. And what did I get for my cash?...as it turned out an excellent night of Rock music played by experienced musicians a couple of who played in the original Rooster with Vincent Crane way back in the early 70's.I do think it's important that bands of this ilk keep going and looking around it was nice to see a few youngsters in the crowd enjoying this old school Prog Rock...Enjoy,Ed

Wearing Black Drape Coats...

A King Biscuit Broadcast I believe.
The fantastic Brian Setzer touring his
The Knife Feels Like Justice solo album.
A great show with of course a couple of
Stray Cats tunes thrown into the
mix as well.

I Said High...

Over Clouds My Mind Will Fly...

It's another fresh vinyl rip for you
Metal Maniacs out there!
It's Legendary British Rockers Iron Maiden
from 1981 and another well known show.
Nijmegen,The Netherlands,April 28th.
They're touring their second album,Killers.
Their last with Paul Di'anno before it
really took off with Bruce Dickinson.

We Came A Long Way,A Slow Way Too...

Quo on the excellent On The Level album tour in
Ipswich,UK,1975.
Good setlist and hard rocking performance.
Pretty decent sound similar to previous 70s posts,
overall it's classic 70s period Quo at their best.

Take A Trip With Me...

A couple of short UFO shows from the early
Schenker days the first one a very good
sounding 3 track radio broadcast from Germany in 1974 with
Schenker and Chapman on guitars.
The second one a five track show listed as
from the Berlin Indoor Art Festival 18/09/73!
The first 3 are soundboard featuring a very early version of
Rock Bottom and are the same as
the well-known German TV  performance.
The last 2 tracks are poor sounding and
maybe not even from the same show who knows!

Don't Look To Me For Answers...

the very well known Ozzy Radio Broadcast.
Montreal 1981.Diary Of A Madman Tour.
Featuring Randy ripping it up,
boy was he something on that six string.

I've Seen A Million Faces...

It's a live compilation we have here from the Bon Jovi Boyz.
Back when they were good!
Taken from various TV & Radio Broadcasts I presume.
Apart from that I have no information.
Nice comp tho'.

You're So Rough,You're So Tough...

 AND WE'RE BACK!
First post of the year has been sent in to The Barn.

I didn't know that Rocket was on a brief break
but sometimes a rest and recharge is needed.
I did, however, want to share a
treat for "the Barn" (and I know that you guys are
taking a rest until the New Year,
which is fine) that I think everyone will enjoy.
Black Oak Arkansas, Live on the Hog:
The show featured the (at the time) 15-year-old
Shawn Lane on guitar, who absolutely
shreds his way through the setlist.
It was played on the radio in 1979, so the sound quality is great.
The only problem with this set is it's just over
45 minutes long, but man, what a performance.
Hope everyone enjoys! Blessings to you during this holiday season!
Thanks,

That "Crazy" Fellow
