From the Reading Festival & an out of print 12" vinyl.
Of course their first few albums were excellent.
As with a lot of bands members leave,output isn't so good.
Strangely I think they ended up with no
original members.
Part of the problem is they fell victim to a condition that seems to afflict a lot of southern bands - the longer they hang around, their mindset seems to shift to more of a country music attitude and conservative politics - The flag, eagles, America - happened to them, Skynyrd, Charlie Daniels...But up to Double Trouble, they were pretty great.

ReplyDeleteBack at the end of the seventies Molly Hatchet was opening for Cheap Trick at Forest National in Brussels. And arriving at the end of their set, a friend we had brought with us to the concert asked with almost tears in his eyes : "But,but..., won't they play I want you to want me". Nope, dummy, that's the opening band, Cheap Trick comes next. Until now, I'm still waiting for a Molly Hatchet cover of IWYTWM
