Always It's The Same Old Song...

Here's a Great Vinyl Rip of April Wine's
One For The Road
(Seems There's Several Live Records with a Similar Title...)...

It Was Apparently Released (At One Time) on CD
with Some Bonus Tracks,
'Cause I Coulda Bought It for Like $900 USD
(No, Thank You!)...

This was Recorded on April Wine's 1984 Canadian Tour!

It's Got That Great April Wine Sound
That Sounds Even Better Aged!

  1. In 1981 & 82 April Wine owned the rock world. I was young but remember it very well. Hanging out at the arcade and listening Sign of the Gypsy Queen. Most folks don't know that was not an original song but a cover song for AW.

    1. Yep. It was Recorded by Some Guy about 10 Years before AW Covered It...
There's a Lot of Songs People Assume are Originals:
From Steve Miller's Jet Airliner to Barry Manilow's Mandy...

    3. I Read an Article...Anyway, Mandy was Originally Brandy by Scott English - But They ONLY Changed That Word to Mandy, So As Not to be confused with Brandy(You're a Fine Girl)...
BTW, I'm Not a Manilow Fan, Myself...

    4. Funny!
Two trivia that I can usually stump folks on are, that people don't know Nazareth - Loves Hurts is a cover song & who originally wrote Joy to the World that 3 Dog Night sings. Hoyt Axton wrote it for a kids cartoon that never came out. Hoyt was an actor and his mother wrote Heartbreak Hotel that everyone has covered. Most famously Elvis. You still got me on Mandy. :-)

    5. Yep. Those 2 are Good Ones!
Hoyt Reminds me that Shel Silverstein Also Wrote Kids Books and Songs for Dr. Hook!
Mandy was Just one of those that really Surprised me for Some Reason...
Another that Surprised me was Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - Cyndi Lauper!
It was Originally Recorded by a Man!

    6. Did not know that about Cyndi Lauper. Wow, still learning every day. Thanks for sharing all of your useless trivia. Thing is, if its important, I suffer from CRS. Stupid rock facts can go all night.

  2. I doubt that there are any left who will claim Manilow. He sure was on the radio alot in the early to mid 70's. April Wine was the bomb like Luv Co said in the Arcade and the Gameroom AW was being turned up loud. Good times and memories. The days of Defender and Galaxians, Air Hockey and Pool Tables...

    1. Wonder If There's Manilow Bootlegs?
      Wonder Who'd Want 'Em?
BTW, He Sang (And Added Lyrics to the Original Song) That American Bandstand used in the 70's & 80's..."We're Goin' Hoppin'..."
      Why Do I Know That???
