Ronnie Played Guitar...

(November 29, 1947 - March 3, 2012)

Ronnie Montrose Was Born to Play the Guitar!

Ronnie Did So Much in his 64 Years on Earth...
(This Is Just But A Brief Highlight)

But Let's Start with What he's Probably Most Famous for...
The Band With His Namesake: MONTROSE...

This Alone would Certainly be Enough to
Mark His Place in Rock Music...

Besides Rockin' The Nation (Maybe The World!)...
He Introduced the World to Sammy Hagar!

The Band also Included Bill Church on Bass
(More on That Connection Later...)

Here's Montrose - Live at The Record Plant Back in 1973!

Montrose - KSAN Record Plant 1973

After Montrose, Ronnie Formed Gamma in 1979
with Singer Davey Pattison...

Originally, Gamma Released Three Albums,
and then a Fourth in 2000...

It Was a Whole Different Kinda Vibe than Montrose...

Here's a Radio Broadcast from 1980 in San Francisco...

Gamma - San Francisco 1980

Ronnie Also Played in Edgar Winter's Band
in the Early 70's Before Formin' Montrose...
Chuck Ruff was the Drummer During This Time...
(More on That Connection Later...)

I Know You Remember the Monster Hit: Frankenstein!
That's Chuck along with Edgar on the Timbales!

Here They Are Playin' That Song and Much More -
Live from Pittsburgh in 1972!

This Is A Great Concert to Get If You Don't Have It!

Edgar Winter Group - Syria Mosque 1972

Sawbuck Was a California Based Band that was
Formed in 1969 by Mojo Collins!

The Band Included Chuck Ruff on Drums
and Bill Church on Bass
and Ronnie Montrose on Guitar...

But, By The Time They Got to Record Their First Record,
Ronnie Got a Call From Van The Man From Tupelo, Honey
So, He and Bill Church Only Ended Up
Playin' on a Couple Tracks Each!

And, Then Ronnie Went on His Way
To Form Montrose and So On...

He Did a lot of Session Work and Solo Albums as well...

Sawbuck was a Laid Back West Coast Country Rock Band, Which was a Style that was Popular Back Then...

This Is a Vinyl Rip, As It Never Made it to CD!

  2. Its hard to believe that Paper Money was the follow up to Montrose. Ugh! No wonder Sammy went solo.
