  1. Thanks again, smoker. Johnny Winter was and forever will be the consummate "working musician". Played all the time, anywhere. He'd headline the Chicago Blues Fest for 30,000 people, then play to 100 people the next day at the Brat Stop in southern Wisconsin.

Music was his job. It's what he loved and he loved the people he did it for. He left this earth en route to the next gig. I was blessed to live in Chicago in the 80s and got to see Johnny countless times...clubs, auditoriums, bars. And he never played the same set twice, not even close.

Lots of blues is beer drinkin' music. Johnny's fiery style made whiskey the go-to in my book. Thanks for this terrific show.

Must've been cool to see Johnny up close.

  2. It was, smoker. I got to see him in auditoriums from the middle of the place down to bars and clubs just a few feet from the stage. The man always delivered a great set and a great time. kp
