Not Terrible, But Not Near As Good
I saw shows at the Eagles Club around this time. It's a big ballroom, and a small stage would be set up on the floor. A few hundred people huddled around the little stage with a big empty expanse all around. Kind of weird, but the shows were always solid--Bonnie Raitt, Richard Thompson, Treat Her Right, Drivin' & Cryin' and Guadalcanal Diary are a few I saw there. Now Eagles Club is multiplex venue that hosts all kinds of music events. Thanks for the post.
