Hello There,Ladies & Gentlemen...

Here's Cheap Trick gracing the Reading Festival.
Pretty much slap bang in their glory era.
Heaven Tonight,At Budokan and the still to be released
Dream Police.Power Pop at it's finest.
Not much crowd captured on this recording
but by all accounts they went down very well.

  1. My first real concert as a teenager. Cheap Trick 1979 tour, with Molly Hatchet as opening act.
After twenty minutes of Molly Hatchet's rocking southern rock, a friend or ours asked me : When will they play I want you to want me ????
50 years later, I'd love to hear Hatchet's version of I want you to want me.

    2. My second ever concert was Cheap Trick in March 1980. Fantastic stuff. Yeah, Hatchet covering "I Want You To Want Me" sounds interesting!

    3. Yep, I had to explain to my friend that it was the band that would come afterwards that will play I want you to want me. He had to wait a little more that Molly Hatchet finished their set.

  2. Thanks smoker. I've always felt Robin Zander hasn't got enough credit for the intensity he puts in to performing. He sings his guts out. Good example is the set from the Paradise Theatre, Boston in '78. Zander's vocal cords must have been shredded after that one.
