They Make Your Fingers Snap, Your Toes Tap...

When Folks Find Out You Are a Drummer...

They Always Get Around to Askin' This Question:

Who's The Greatest Drummer, EVER?

I, Of Course, Answer: "Me."
And They Say: "No, Really."
I Act Surprised, "It's Not Me?"

"Well, Besides Me," I Say, "It's Buddy Rich! Period."

"What About John Bonham or Neil Peart or _____?" They Ask.
"If You Mean Rock and Progressive Rock, Sure," I Answer.

Then, I Ask Them:
"Who's The Most Successful Drummer, EVER?"

While That's Rollin' Around in Their Brain,
I Give 'Em The Correct Answer...

And There's ONLY ONE!

  2. He once mentioned that the infamous drum intro to Be My Baby was a mistake. It was supposed to be in 4/4, but he missed a beat at the start, and carried it through the rest of the song.
