Pete Townshend, Supposedly, Made Up The Term
"Power Pop" to Describe What The Who Did!?!
But, As You Might Guess...It Didn't Stick To Them...
But, It Has Been Used To Describe The Music of
Bands Like Raspberries, Badfinger, Etc.
Here's the Raspberries Live from the
House of Blues in Chicago in 2005...
Eric Carmen Bein' the Most Famous Member...
And The Last Song Here, Their Biggest Hit...
Many of Their Originals Played, and a few
Cover Versions of The Who and Beatles, Etc.
Lots to Like 'Bout This
Real Good Audience Recording...
'Bout a Couple Hours of Rockin' Pop Songs...
Thanks Pete!
Amazing the number of hit singles that remain in heavy rotation on (what remains of) pop radio and streaming services the Raspberries cranked out over the course of a short 3-album career. Better pop rock gems have never been written. Thanks for the post, Rocket.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Still Played After All This Time...
DeleteAnd, Yet, There's Still Not Enough Folks Know 'Bout Them...
Glad I Ran Across This One Again!
Just Simply Great "Good Time Music!"
they had four albums out. Not three.
DeleteRaspberries had 4 albums out, not 3. R.I.P. Eric Carmen. Let's have some more Raspberries shows. Thanks.
DeleteSaw them on the same tour in New York later than year. Pretty sure it was the first time I took my (not-yet) wife to a concert. Great show.
ReplyDeleteSomethin' Like That: You Better Be Damn Sure! 'Fore You Say It Out Loud!
DeleteI remember seeing The Raspberries at B.B. Kings in NYC in 2005 and they were amazing! The place was packed and everyone was loving them. I was wondering if you could repost the show it would be great to hear them live again. Thank you for all you do!
ReplyDeleteSteve
