Here's one dropped into the comments by our
buddy,BFK.Big Thanks,
and another band I haven't heard of!
Not related to this post, but i thought i'd share this great sounding boot of the excellent but overlooked early '70's all female Heavy Rock band BIRTHA with you. Very little by them in circulation, so please feel free to share it with your visitors if you think it's worthy.
BIRTHA - Live On TV (1972-1973) 320 kbps (inc covers & bio)
No PW required.
Happy listening,
BFK

Hey thank you BFK. Rock solid, lots in nicely alongside Mountain and Blue Cheer to these ears. Thanks for the contribution!
ReplyDeleteWow! I am more than a little obsessive about this stuff, but I have never heard of this band. Looking forward to checking this out!
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome fellas, and i hope you enjoyed getting aquainted with Birtha's criminally overlooked music. I can absoutely hear kingpossum's Mountain comparison, if not so much Blue Cheer. Musically, they probably remind me most of early Grand Funk Railroad, (the 1st 5 classic studio albums), as they both shared a similar high-energy feel-good rawkin' sound.
ReplyDeleteBirtha sadly only left us a slim discography (just 2 LP's & a non-LP single), but they definitely deserve to have their catalogue re-evaluated & (some day) re-released.
Best wishes & keep up the great work all you barn-stormers,
BFK
